The autumn season is well under way. We have some exciting acts coming to Crich& Holloway between December and the end of May. Saturday 1st December 2018 – Holloway – “Flamenco Alma Gitana”

This acclaimed Spanish flamenco ensemble of voice, guitar and dancer brim with passion, power and technical command, delivering both slow, grand emotion and driving gunfire rhythms, with Lourdes Fernandez’s ‘zapateado’ heels hammering the floor. Thrilling footwork, extraordinary singing, outstanding guitar: a fantástico show.

Saturday 8th December 2018 – Crich – “The Fishpond Choir Christmas Concert”

Join us for a Christmas Concert, performed by the acclaimed Fishpond Choir. The evening will feature Christmas songs, and carols old and new, to put us all in the mood for the festive season.

The choir, which is about fifty strong, sings a wide selection of material. Their repertoire includes folk music from around the world, light classical pieces, and items specially written or arranged by Musical Director, Dana de Waal, and members of the choir. The choir’s first love is African music – mostly from the south of the continent.

This is a special fund-raising concert, and all proceeds will go to support DayCare at the Glebe.

Saturday 26th January 2019 – Crich – “Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman”

Devon based Kathryn and Sean have become one of the most adored and formidable folk duos in recent years. Their enigmatic and contemporary folk tunes have captured the hearts of the world since they came together. They have created a mesmerising collection of songs that drag folk from the past; into the present; and then send it hurtling into the future.

Saturday 16th February 2019 – Holloway – “The James Brothers in Concert”

The James Brothers are James Fagan and Jamie McClennan from lands down-under – Australia and New Zealand to be precise. Lands in which the traditional songs and tunes of the British Isles have evolved their own unique haracteristics, like music marsupials. It’s these songs and tunes, and several of their own making that the James Brothers have united to play.

Sunday 17th February 2019 – Crich – “Rockin’ in Rhythm – The Genius of Duke Ellington”

The flawless jazz singer Sarah Moule, and immaculate pianist Simon Wallace, bring us an evening of great music, paying tribute to “Duke Ellington”, one of the greats of jazz. To quote Ellington “It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing”

One of the UK’s top young American bluegrass and old-time music acts
