We celebrated Popalong Baby and Toddler Group’s 5th birthday on October 7th. Time has flown! The babies and toddlers who started with us in October 2006 have now been at school for a year or more! We keep in touch with those now at Pre-School at our ‘Feast’ at the end of each term.
We are open every Friday morning in term time at Crich Wesley Chapel, Chapel Lane for parents/carers with babies and toddlers (age 0–2½). You will always be welcomed and treated to real coffee/tea and quite often cake, served by Ken, Heather, Deirdre and others. The toddlers have healthy snacks, and there are a variety of toys to play with inside and out. We play with play-dough, paint and crayons, and finish with song-time which we all enjoy, especially with Martyn playing his guitar. At the moment we are quite full, but do enquire after Christmas if you would like a place.

Our Crich Community Cookbook ‘Pop-a-Dish’. All two hundred copies have sold, so we are having fifty more printed. Thanks for all the lovely recipes!
On October 21st St Mary’s Church was lit by candles when Lesley Smith, the curator of Tutbury Castle, came in the guise of Anne Boleyn on the eve of her execution.
CHIKS Christmas cards, including a new design by one of the Cubs, are on sale. Look out for them.
Walks with Wheels. This booklet has been designed by a Crich mum who goes to Popalong toddler group. It contains six walks suitable for buggy-pushers (and wheelchair-users) and will be on sale in the Spring.
By Christmas we should have raised well over £7,000 towards the £23,000 needed to start building the Children’s Home in Aduwa, West Kenya. Thanks to everyone who is helping us.
